By default, Revolt theme will automatically take the first image that’s in the gallery of your post as a thumbnail for the post. Please keep in mind that it will only work with the images you have uploaded through Upload/Insert interface (see the image), otherwise the thumbnail will not be automatically recognized. In other words, images hosted on other websites (such as Flicker) will not be automatically added to your post.
You can also use a custom image for your thumbnail. Here’s how to do it:
- Make a 280×210px jpeg image for your thumbnail.
- You will have to manually upload the file to the /THUMBS folder inside of the Revolt folder on your server
- Add the custom field called thumbnail and write down the filename of your thumbnail, as in example. Please note that this custom field is different from the “thumb” custom filed which points to the image in gallery. Thumbnail custom field points to the image file you manually uploaded to /thumbs folder.
