Edit Your Head

You will find a headless header image in edit_head.jpg, in theme’s images folder (that’s /revolt_basic/images/). Edit as you wish to paste your own head or whatever you like, and save it back to head.jpg to overwrite default header.

Edit Your Message

Similarly, you will find an empty message image in edit_message.jpg, in theme’s images/ folder. Write down the message you want to shout to the world and save back as revoltmessage.jpg to overwrite the existing default message. Upload back these two images to server and you’re done !

Nenad… it looks great… Unfortunately I cannot find the female feet… And since I am female I like to have female feet.

Any suggestions? You ‘advertise’ that you have them…

Hi,Nenad.
Luv your theme, but i can´t really put my face and message on it.
Could i beg your help?
If so, could u send me step by step.
I found: header.php for tag and wrap an tag around it. This will look like this: <img src=”" /… but i don´t know how to change it to my photo. Do I upload it in the media first?
Tks a lot and sorry to disturbe you but i really liked your awose theme!

@roberto: i suggest you add new thumbnail images manually that are cropped to proper thumb dimensions to avoid squeezing the images. see this post: http://www.nenadk.com/web/2009/06/customize-revolt-add-thumbnails/
@kylie: unfortunately, no video tutorial yet… the images are in the /images folder that you’ll get when you extract the zip file containing the theme. you would need some basic knowledge in image editing and program (any image editing program would do it, lots of free ones out there too), and also some knowledge of how to upload files to your server and set up wordpress there. i suggest you consult word press website for quick guides on how to do it.

Nenad. Your theme’s great! Easy to use. Got my web working with it right now! http://www.robertomengoni.it
Blog pics are squeezed. How can I put them back in their original dimensions?

Hi Julio – yes I understand it can be painful to work back trough all posts in order for thumbs to pop out. If you’ve been adding images to your post trough upload Gallery/Media interface, the thumbs should show up automatically, but if not (like linking to images from Flickr), then it will require adding the thumbs manually. To do that, you don’t need to edit any file, but you will need first to upload thumbnail image to thumbs/ folder inside of Revolt theme, and then add Custom Field to the post (scroll to the bottom of Edit post page, you will see “Custom Fields”). @Adam -> unfortunately not at the moment. Would love to add this to some future release of the theme, but frankly I don’t see it coming in before mid-October. Glad you like and use the theme, guys :) Good luck :)

What I mean to say is, rather, how do I go about applying the auto-thumbnails without having to redo every post…I guess it’s inevitable.

THX SO MUCH FOR GIVING US YOUR TEMPLATE FOR FREE! YOU ARE AN AWESOME WEB-DESIGNER/ARCHITECT!

Also, I might have forgotten to mention this, but GREAT TEMPLATE! I’m thoroughly impressed!

I love this theme.

I added the head per your instructions and it ALMOST looks good, but the head (and hands) are compressed a small amount.

Any suggestions as to why the image is compressed would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks guys -
@boykindogs: to animate the head i used flash actionscript.
@sigsig: you do not need to do anything in control panel nor edit theme. what you need to do is find the image files i wrote about in this post, and use image editing program such as Photoshop, Gimp (which is free), or free online image editing such as http://fotoflexer.com/ to cut a head from some of your photos and put it into the edit_head.jpg… Same goes with writing your message.

After you’re done, you need to save these files under new filenames “head.jpg” and “revoltmessage.jpg” and upload again to your server.
Hope this helps :)
